Defendant was found to be in possession of a switch blade knife while passing security at the Tampa International Airport. Defendant was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Defendant was observed running a stop sign and when officers attempted to stop the Defendant, he was accused of speeding away from the officer, jumping out of his car and fleeing on foot and getting away. Fleeing and Eluding is a 3rd Degree Felony that carries a mandatory driver’s license revocation. After negotiations with the State Attorney, Michael J. Boyle, Esq. was able to convince the State to reduce the charges to a misdemeanor Obstruction of Justice that carried no drivers license suspension.
