Defendant was stopped for having a break light out, and the officer requested consent to search.  Officer found a small cigar tube with a small amount of marijuana inside.  Defendant was charged with a 1st degree misdemeanor for possession of marijuana under 20 grams.  Attorney Michael Boyle filed motion to suppress the marijuana that was found, based upon the unlawful stop of the vehicle.  Prior to the hearing on this motion, the State Attorney dropped the charges against the defendant.

Defendant was crashed his motorcycle into a guardrail on a local highway.  The Defendant and his passenger both sustained injury.  The passenger died many days later.  The Defendants blood was drawn and reveled an unlawful alcohol content.  He was subsequently investigated by the State Attorney's Office for DUI manslaughter.  After the conclusion of many months of negotiations the State Attorney's Office agreed to file a lesser charge of DUI with Serious Bodily Injury and the Defendant was allowed to plea to a non-jail (probation) disposition.

Defendant was at a local nightclub with several friends when they were asked to leave.  The Defendant was then accused of punching a bouncer in the face on the way out of the nightclub.  Police outside the club arrested the Defendant and he was prosecuted for misdemeanor battery.  After several months of urging and negotiating, Michael Boyle was able to convince the State Attorney's Office to drop all charges against the Defendant.

Defendant was arrested for aggravated stalking of his ex-girlfriend.  During the State Attorney's investigation Michael Boyle successfully petitioned the civil court to issue an injunction for protection (restraining order) to keep the ex-girlfriend way from the Defendant.  The State Attorney agreed to reduce the charges from an Aggravated Stalking (3rd Degree Felony) to a Stalking (1st Degree Misdemeanor) at the conclusion of its investigation phase.  During the court proceedings, Michael Boyle was able to leverage a further reduction in the charge down to a Disorderly Conduct (2nd Degree Misdemeanor) with a fine and no jail and no probation.

Defendant came around a corner and lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a newspaper rack.  Police arrived on scene and noted several signs of impairment and subsequently arrested the Defendant for a DUI.  He refused the breath test and refused the field sobriety exercises.  When he hired Michael Boyle to represent him, his case was very close to trial and all attempts by the Defendant's previous attorney to get the case reduced to Reckless Driving had not been successful.  After getting the trial pushed back, Michael Boyle was able to uncover some additional information in the case and persuade the State Attorney's Office to reconsider the reduction of the charge to a Reckless Driving, thus allowing the Defendant to avoid a DUI conviction and also avoid any mandatory jail time.

Defendant was observed by a police officer leaving a bar and driving the on the wrong side of the road.  Defendant was arrested and provided a breath sample of .117/.118.  The Defendant performed field sobriety exercises on video and the officer noted that the Defendant "failed" the exercises.  After reviewing a copy of the video, Michael Boyle, was able to convince the State Attorney's Office to reconsider the finding of the officer.  After negotiations, the State Attorney agreed to reduce the charge to a Reckless Driving.

Defendant was arrested after passing a forged and stolen prescription at a pharmacy.  Defendant was in possession of a trafficking amount of hydrocodone and was facing a 25year minimum mandatory prison sentence.  After extensive negotiations with the State Attorney, the Defendants charges were reduced to simple possession and the minimum mandatory was avoided.  Defendant received drug treatment and three years of probation.  Defendant was also allowed to receive a withhold of adjudication, meaning that there would be no formal felony conviction.

Defendant was arrested for Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a child under the age of 16.  Michael Boyle was hired by the Defendants family to conduct an independent investigation of the allegations and provide that information to the State Attorney in an effort to clear the Defendant of these charges.  Michael Boyle did just that.  At the conclusion of the State Attorney's investigation, with the benefit of the information provided my Michael Boyle, all charges were dropped against the Defendant.

Defendant was arrested and held in jail accused of battering his wife.  Defendant hired Michael Boyle to represent him and give his side of the story to the investigating State Attorney.  Prior to any formal charges being filed, the State Attorney dropped all charges.

Defendant was involved in an altercation with numerous individuals.  Two of the individuals were injured fairly seriously in the altercation.  Defendant was accused of hitting the victims with a beer bottle and pushing a pregnant woman to the ground.  Michael Boyle was hired by the Defendants family to conduct an independent investigation and speak to the witnesses.  After doing so, Michael Boyle uncovered some new evidence that he then turned over to the State Attorney.  At the conclusion of the State Attorney's investigation they dropped all charges against the Defendant.

Defendant was arrested and accused of chasing her husband out of the house while threatening him with a machete.  Michael Boyle was hired to assist in convincing the State Attorney not to file formal criminal charges against the Defendant.  At the conclusion of the State Attorney's investigation, the dropped all charges against the Defendant.

Defendant was stopped for speeding.  Defendant was arrested and charged with DUI.  He had refused the breathalyzer and the Trooper described his performance on the Field Sobriety Exercises as poor.  After discussions with Michael Boyle, the State Attorney agreed to reduce the charge from DUI to Reckless Driving.
